- Overview
-
- Now in its 129th year, the Mito Plum Festival is one of the largest festivals in Mito City, where you can enjoy 3,000 plum trees of approximately 100 varieties. A new night event, Kairakuen UME The Lights, will be held at the festival!
- The worldview of yin and yang that the founder, Tokugawa Nariaki, instilled in Kairakuen will be expressed in a way that can only be achieved at night through new lighting effects.
- In and around Kairakuen, there are a variety of food stalls, food trucks, and special booths. There are also special menus available only during the Plum Festival, so please enjoy these in addition to the illuminations.
- What to expect
-
Kairakuen, one of Japan's three most famous gardens in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, will be lit up for the first time in a night event! Enjoy the fantastic plum blossoms at night in Kairakuen, which looks different from daytime.
