200 years in business. The store name "Yamaju" comes from the fact that the first generation was known as "Ueyama no Jubei".
At the time of its founding, it operated a bathhouse called "Yuya Chojuyu", and it was a popular place to relax after soaking in the hot water and having a meal or drinking alcohol.
In the Taisho period, he also worked on Western cuisine. Since then, it has been operating as a Japanese restaurant.
In 1964 and 2008, members of the imperial family visited us. You can spend a comfortable time in a pure Japanese-style space with cuisine and hospitality unique to a long-established restaurant. It was published in the 2020 Michelin Guide Niigata. Autumn 2021 The building has been certified as a registered tangible cultural property of the country.
