- What to expect
-
Chosen as one of Japan's 100 scenic landscapes, Lake Tazawa is the country's deepest lake with a depth of 423.4 meters. A famous spot at Lake Tazawa is the Statue of Tatsuko, a gold-colored statue of a woman. It was built from the legend a long time ago about a girl named Tatsuko who wished for her beauty to last forever, but before she knew it she turned into a dragon and threw herself into Lake Tazawa.
