[Nara] Kashihara Shrine: Kagura Prayer and Formal Worship Experience

• A sacred dance and prayer will be performed by shrine maidens. A special prayer will be offered for the good fortune, prosperity, and fulfillment of all wishes of the participants.
• While you cannot enter the main hall, which was relocated from the former Imperial Palace's Naishidokoro (Kashikodokoro), you will be able to experience a formal worship service with the Shinto priests from the nearby inner sanctuary.
• Explore the vast grounds of the shrine with a local guide. Enjoy learning about the history of the shrine and hearing stories you can only hear here through an interpreter.

Kashihara, the birthplace of Japan as recorded in the Nihon Shoki, Japan's oldest official history, is the site of this tour. Here, you will experience Japanese culture at Kashihara Shrine, located in this very place. This tour includes the recitation of prayers, followed by a special Kagura dance, which will be offered to the gods. Afterwards, under the supervision of a Shinto priest, you will formally worship at the inner sanctuary, which is located very close to the main hall (formerly the Naishidokoro of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, a nationally important cultural property) and is normally off-limits to the public. Following the worship, you will stroll through the vast grounds with a local guide and interpreter.
