Tenkawa Daibenzaiten Shrine, revered as one of Japan's three great Benten families, enshrines Benzaiten, the water spirit. Benzaiten is also known as the deity of music and the performing arts, and annual Noh performances are held before her. Also enshrined within the grounds are the Akofuu mask once used by Zeami, along with precious Noh masks and Noh costumes from the early days of Noh.
Mitarai Gorge (みたらい渓谷), located in Tenkawa Village, Nara Prefecture, is considered one of the most beautiful gorges in the Kinki region. With distinct seasons, each spring, summer, autumn, and winter offers unique scenery, making it a must-see for photographers and hikers.
