In this experience, you can leisurely enjoy Kyoto's unique "night-only" culture in a small group at an authentic Kyo-machiya (traditional Kyoto townhouse) built 100 years ago. After check-in, we will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of Japanese mochi pounding and the history of the tea ceremony. Next, you will have the opportunity to try authentic mochi pounding using a traditional mortar and pestle. The freshly pounded mochi will be finished on the spot, allowing you to enjoy its warm, freshly made flavor. Furthermore, you will participate in a matcha whisking experience using authentic tea ceremony tools. We will carefully explain traditional tools such as the chasen (bamboo whisk), chashaku (bamboo scoop), and natsume (tea caddy), which you don't often get to handle. At the end of the experience, you can take a group photo, and there will also be a special souvenir from the owner. We offer a cultural experience that will become one of the most special memories of your trip to Japan.
