Kodo is a group that seeks to find infinite possibilities in traditional music and performing arts centered around taiko drums and recreate them for the modern era. They made their debut at the Berlin Festival in 1981. Since then, they have performed more than 7,000 times in over 50 countries and regions around the world. In recent years, they have expanded the scope of their activities, including performing with Hatsune Miku and MIYAVI. In 2023, they received the Commissioner's Award for the Agency for Cultural Affairs for the fiscal year 2023.
