Sanzen-in Temple is one of the three temples of the Tendai Sect. You can see sakura in April, rhododendron in May, hydrangea in July, and maple leaves in autumn. The natural scenery is pleasing to the eye throughout the year. The Arashiyama area is made up of Arashiyama and Sagano. You can take the Sagano Romantic Train to enjoy the natural scenery that changes with the seasons. There are also many ancient temples and shrines in the Arashiyama area. The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is where Ang Lee filmed "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," and the Tenryu-ji Temple in the trail has a wonderful view of the Japanese garden. The footbath of Arashiyama Station is at the Hannari Hokkori Square. It is a Japanese-style footbath which is modeled after JR Yufuin Station in Kyushu.
