- Overview
-
- Experienced guides will guide you. Even beginners can participate. The tour will be adjusted according to the level of the participants.
- During the hiking on snow with snowshoes and poles, you may see rare animals such as sea cormorants, seagulls, Steller's sea eagles, Ezo deer, and seals.
- You can see or visit Shimamui Coast, Demisaki Observatory, Demisaki Lighthouse, Kasadomari Observatory and Jyorokkoiwa Observatory Deck.
- A series of cliffs and oddly shaped rocks are interesting one after another, and columnar joints (regular pillar-like cracks caused by lava that has flowed from the volcano and hardened as it cooled slowly) can be observed on the cliffs that rise up from the sea.
- Shakotan Peninsula is the only area in Hokkaido where the coastline is designated as a national park and has been designated as a Hokkaido Heritage Site because of its remarkably developed sea cliffs and the beauty of its underwater park.
