Entrance Ticket to Rokko Shidare Observatory. Situated approximately 900 m above sea level, the structure resembles a giant tree. Its roof, frames, walls, and floors are all made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) from the forests of Yoshino, Nara Prefecture, which fills the observatory with the gentle scent of cypress. Visitors can experience the seasonal nature of Mt. Rokko at this observatory, including the "cold wind experience" in summer using natural ice and wind, and the "ice cutting" in winter.
