Bento is the perfect portable boxed lunch from Japan, and you can learn how to put together your own, Kyoto-style. While they can be found at stores nationwide and even internationally, no bento is as delicious as the one you make for yourself. Learn to make sesame salad, teriyaki chicken, dashimaki rolled omelets, tempura, sushi, and miso soup with the gentle guidance of a home chef. And you won't be studying just the standard versions of these dishes; make them all in the Kyoto way with techniques and seasonings unique to the prefecture. The class ends with a lunch (your lunch!) with refreshing Japanese green tea. Menu: -Goma-ae (sesame salad) -Teriyaki chicken -Dashimaki-tamago (egg roll) -Tempura -Sushi roll -Miso soup
