- Mt. Takao is a spiritual mountain located west of Tokyo. It is about one hour from Shinjuku by train.
- There is an old temple named Yakuoin, built in the 7th century. The mountain was considered sacred, and its nature has been preserved for more than 1300 years.
- This mountain has various hiking trails, some along the river and some along the ridge. If climbing up the trail is difficult, you can take a cable car, which makes climbing much easier.
