- Rarely do travelers have the opportunity to meet artists and artisans so accomplished as to be considered living national treasures — the third-generation head of the Kinzangama Kiln, Minori Yoshita, earned this accolade for his expertise in beautiful Kutani Ware ceramics. His son Yukio has inherited this tradition of beauty, and works to explore how modern technologies like laser cutters can be used to build upon this centuries-old art. Guests can see how they do their work, and make their own small ceramic boxes decorated with gold, as a one-of-a-kind artistic souvenir.
