Our first stop will be a 2.5 hour visit to Shirakawa-go. You will receive a suggested path for your self-guided visit to Shirakawa-go from the bus driver, giving you the confidence and freedom to enjoy Shirakawa-go. Tucked away in the mountainous region of Gifu Prefecture, Shirakawa-go is known famously for its unique architecture - houses with towering triangular roofs, called gassho in Japanese, meaning "to bring ones hands together in prayer."
