- On August 6, 1945, the City of Hiroshima was destroyed by the atomic bomb, leaving the city completely devastated. Peace Memorial Park is dedicated to the many people who suffered and died during this historic tragedy. Visit Peace Memorial Museum, and then travel back in time through a virtual reality tour based on historical material and survivor testimony. On the river cruise, you’ll gain a unique perspective on the city’s inspiring postwar recovery, and see features of both HIroshima’s past and present.
