Join a 3-hour guided tour exploring the history, architecture, and resilience of Kumamoto Castle. Meet your guide at Sakuranobaba Johsaien Tourist Information Center, then visit Wakuwakuza Museum to learn about Kato Kiyomasa, samurai governance, and the castle’s construction. After the museum, walk to Kumamoto Castle through the special restoration route. Along the way, your guide will explain the famous dual-style stone walls, the defensive Kuragari Passage, the 2016 earthquake damage, and ongoing reconstruction efforts. Inside the main keep, explore exhibitions on the castle’s history, the Satsuma Rebellion, and restoration work, then enjoy views from the upper floor.
