Lake Akan (Akanko), located in Kushiro City (former Akan Town) in eastern Hokkaido, is a caldera lake with an area of 13.28 km2, a circumference of 30 km, and a maximum depth of 45 m. Lake Akan has four islands, including Oshima and Kojima, Churui Island where Marimo Exhibition and Observation Center is located, and Yaitai Island, where you can enjoy the beautiful natural beauty of each season.
