Only available in Japan! Run by a chef from France, this small patisserie is situated along the Meguro River (famous for its cherry blossoms) right nearby Nakameguro Station.
Ecole Criollo is a cake shop run by Antoine Santos, a French patissier who has lived in Japan for more than 20 years. His shop sells a number of different seasonal sweets and confections including cakes, bread, macarons, baked sweets and chocolates. This patisserie’s original creations blend together the French style, which stresses aroma, with the Japanese style, where delicate tastes bring out the inherent flavors of the ingredients. There are also a variety of items suitable as souvenirs available for purchase.
Not to be found outside Japan, the delectable sweets of this shop can only be enjoyed while in the country, though there is another location in Tokyo. The main shop Criollo can be found at Kotake-mukaihara Station, two stops from Ikebukuro. The main shop also has a café with a terrace surrounded by greenery. Be sure to come by and enjoy scrumptious confectionary in a relaxing atmosphere!
