Asakusa Naniwaya

浅草浪花屋

Description

Ganso Taiyaki Naniwa Sohonten has been making taiyaki (a warm dessert in the shape of tai, or sea bream, traditionally filled with red bean paste) since 1909. Asakusa Naniwaya is a sister restaurant that opened in December 2010 that makes the taiyaki in the same way they have been made sine the original store opened, carefully baking each taiyaki one by one while making a clanging sound. The taiyaki made of additive-free batter is crispy and fragrant. The inside is filled to the brim with red bean paste made of azuki beans from Tokachi that have been cooked for eight hours. You can eat it at the store, or take it to go to enjoy it while strolling through the tourist town of Asakusa. Asakusa Naniwaya is a 1-minute walk from Asakusa Station on Tsukuba Express and a 5-minute walk from Tawaramachi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line.
