An amusement park popular for the historic merry‐go‐round and thrilling attractions. A full day of fun for the family.
An amusement park that has attracted many visitors for over 80 years since opening in 1926. The merry-go-round called Carousel El Dorado is a famous symbol of the park. The carousel was made in Germany by Hugo Haase in 1907, and made its way to other European countries and the United States before landing in Toshimaen in 1971. In recognition of its high value as a cultural asset, it was registered as a Mechanical Engineering Heritage in 2010 by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. All of the sculptures on it are handcrafted wood sculptures with fine details. Other than the merry-go-round, the park offers various rides such as the big pirate ship called Flying Pirates which swings in the air, and a corkscrew roller coaster. The swimming pools and slides are also very popular in the summer. The park is just 2 minute walk from the Seibu-Ikebukuro Line and Seibu-Yurakucho Line Toshimaen Station.
