There is an observation deck as well as the museum cafe & restaurant on the 52nd floor, so you can also enjoy a panoramic view of Tokyo or have a relaxing break and enjoy a coffee or a meal after visiting the exhibition. Another great point about the museum is that it is open until 10:00 p.m. (except for Tuesdays, when it closes at 5 pm). Since its opening in October, 1985, TOTO GALLERY・MA has carried on its devotion to solo exhibitions by Japanese and foreign architects and designers. The gallery provides exhibitors with the unique opportunity to fully demonstrate their individuality by granting them free reign of the entire gallery, making the structure part of the ”work”. The configuration of the gallery itself is interesting in that exhibition room 1 on 3F and exhibition room 2 on 4F are mutually accessible through the outside courtyard. Although spatially a smaller gallery at just 240 square meters, exhibitors can convey their philosophies and values in a condensed and highly expressive manner. In addition, the 2F museum shop “Bookshop TOTO” offers books, magazines, home decor and other items specially and personally selected by the gallery staff.

Suntory Holdings Limited, a Japanese beverage maker, opened the Suntory Museum of Art in 1961. Its collection includes about 3,000 works that are basically related to the beauty in our daily lives. It houses one National Treasure, 13 Important Cultural Properties, and 21 Important Artworks; visitors can enjoy a variety of works in the genres of painting, Japanese lacquerware, ceramics, glass, and dyeing and weaving that date back to between the Heian and Edo periods. Japanese architect Kengo Kuma designed the museum building, which reflects a mixture of Japanese tradition and modernity, with wood and Japanese paper used in many parts of the structure. Suntory Museum of Art is located inside Tokyo Midtown, a modern, integrated complex of shopping malls, offices and hotels. Tokyo Midtown is conveniently connected with the exits of Roppongi Station, served by the Oedo and Hibiya Subway Lines.
