Directly connected to Ikebukuro Station, Tobu Department Store is located in Ikebukuro with easy access to both Narita and Haneda Airports. Thanks to its direct station connection, you don’t need to worry about getting wet when it rains and can enjoy shopping all throughout the day!

There are two “depachika” (underground department store) levels here, selling a wide variety of goods including Japanese and Western sweets perfect for souvenirs, seasonal fruits, and so much more. Some shops also have eat-in areas for a quick and convenient bite to eat. Extending from the 1st floor up to the 8th, the shopping section presents you a huge variety of products, with the cosmetics brand stores and shoe brand shops being particularly worth a visit.

If you’re looking for Japanese-made souvenirs, we recommend the kitchen utensils and Japanese tableware section on the 6th floor. The famous unisex clothing chain Uniqlo has a shop on the 9th and 10th floors, and from the 11th up to the 15th you’ll find the largest department store restaurant area in Tokyo, with 46 different restaurants inviting you to enjoy not only Japanese staples like sushi, sukiyaki, and tempura but meals from all around the world, including Chinese and Italian. What’s more, the area’s open until 11:00 p.m. so you can eat late.

Myohoyu is a public bath with a bright atmosphere, and their glass-sided building allow the view of the lobby from the street. It has a big dressing room, and in the resting space, a wide selection of the beverages are available for purchase.

About the baths:
- Hot-water is heated using firewood so it has an established reputation of the water being soft and not stingy
- Shampoos and such are available in the bath room, so it is ok to bring only the towel with you
- The crib is placed in the ladies’ side of the bath room

Designed with ”Oasis in the Sky” as a concept, the Sunshine Aquarium is an extraordinary metropolitan aquarium in a high-rise, and you can experience the joy, comfort, peacefulness, and relaxation of an aquarium all at once. Its easy access is another attractive point as it is a 5-minute walk from the Higashi-ikebukuro Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line or a 10-minute walk from the Ikebukuro Station on several lines.

The aquarium also offers an entertainment space with a seal show, underwater performance show, and a feeding-time show of seals, pelicans, and penguins. The gift shops sell aquarium-original items and there's a stylish cafe that gives an impression of a resort beach. This is an aquarium that people of all ages can enjoy!

Ikefukuro or Ike-fukuro is a stone statue erected in September 1987. It was created because there was no outstanding meeting spot in the Inkebukuro Station when the JR (Japan Railways) was launched in March of the same year. Fukuro (an owl) is a pun on the ”bukuro” part of the word ”Ikebukuro.” Initially, the station staff tried to carve an owl out of wood, only to fail. They contracted the work to a masonry company in the Tochigi prefecture, which completed it.

The history of the Ikebukuro area is inscribed on the post placed just behind the statue. In 2006, a new statue of three little owls was placed next to the original one. The three-little-owl statue was a generous donation from the 5th-grade class-1 pupils of the nearby Ikebukuro Dai-san (No. 3) Elementary School. Both statues are now popular as the ”parent and baby owls.” If you take the JR Ikebukuro Station North Exit and turn right following the sign ”Ikefukuro” in front of you, you will find the Ikefukuro statues. Alternatively, if you walk towards the Higashi-guchi (East) Exit from the Central Exit, turn left onto Cherry Road, and then continue, you will also find them. Either way takes about one minute.

A 200-meter shopping street linking Green Odori, located near the east exit of JR Ikebukuro Station, and Sunshine 60. Next to Tokyu Hands, there is an entrance to the underground walkway to get to Sunshine City.

Namja Town prides itself on being Japan's largest indoor theme park. Here, you can enjoy all sorts of attractions without worrying about the weather. The park consists of three towns. Dokkingamu Plaza is a European-style townscape with a large gummi (candy) tree as its symbol. Fukubukuro Nana-Chome Shopping Street reproduces a Japanese townscape circa 1955.

Mononoke Bangaichi is a mysterious town overtaken by mononoke (ghosts). Each town has fun attractions for the whole family. When you get hungry, Namja Gyoza Stadium on Fukubukuro Nana-Chome Shopping Street serves up local gyoza from various places, while Fukubukuro Dessert Side Street offers decorated desserts. There is also a souvenir shop selling items such as original character goods. A three-minute walk from Higashi-Ikebukuro Station on the Yuraku-cho Line, and an eight-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station.

It aims to harmonize with the street as a front gate, influenced by art and culture, by affinity of Ikebukuro Montparnasse Metro and Paris of France and by inheriting the image of Echika Omotesando.

Gokoku-ji was established by the wish of Keishoin, the real mother of the 5th shogun of the Edo shogunate named Tsunayoshi Tokugawa in 1681. The main hall was resumed in the Genroku period with the best available knowledge and crafts at the time, which are shown in its delicate sculptures depicting lions, tapirs, and elephants hanging on a pillar (kake-hana). It is a precious building that is preserved as it was at the time of its construction despite it having survived several crises such as fires, earthquakes, and war damages. The principal image, Nyoirin Kanzeon Bosatsu, is exhibited on the 18th of each month. Many buildings on the temple ground, as well as the main hall, have been designated as international and domestic Important Cultural Properties. There is a graveyard in the precinct, and it is well-known for having graves of many historical figures such as Shigenobu Okuma and Aritomo Yamagata (both were politicians). It has great access with a one-minute walk from the exit 1 of the Gokoku-ji Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line.

We recommend our services to people who are making their ””cat debut”” and petting cats for the first time, and people who love cats but are unable to care for one themselves. When spending a little time in the world of cats, please make sure to ensure the cats also enjoy themselves by properly following the rules.

We are located seven minutes on foot from Ikebukuro Station's East Exit. Go to the eigth floor of Tokyu Hands and look for our large, distinctive cat-shaped door.
