spectacular fireworks (one of the largest in western Japan) being launched from Shimonoseki and Moji, against the beautiful night scenery of the Kanmon Straits.

The “Kanmon Kaikyo Fireworks Festival” is a summer festival that started in 1988 to deepen exchanges between Kitakyushu City and Shimonoseki City in Yamaguchi Prefecture, which are adjacent to each other across the Kanmon Straits.
