- 650-year-old redwood tree with a diameter of 3.2m, which is now considered a natural monument. Taking a bath while looking up at the night sky, in the morning mist, or in the snowy landscape in winter is exceptional.
- Redwood is the world's largest tree with a height of more than 100m, and has long been known to many people in the United States as the "tree of the gods." It was treated as a natural monument and was not allowed to be felled. In the 1980s, Mr. Kamakura, who later became the owner of the mansion, organized a search party with people familiar with the forest, such as local woodcutters and hunters. We ventured into the dense forests of Sequoia National Park. After a daunting journey of about a month, we finally found a 1
- 650-year-old redwood tree with a diameter of 5m. The current REDWOOD INN was built in Japan after overcoming many difficulties. The 75cm beams and the 3.2m diameter open-air bath made from thick trunks are used throughout the hotel. The building is modeled after the Grand Canyon Forest Ranger Station, which protects the redwood forests.
