Tsuchiya Kaban Yokohama store

In 1965, Tsuchiya Kaban was founded in Tokyo.
At first, we started manufacturing traditional leather firm backpack for primary school children, which is commonly called ‘Randoseru’ in Japan.

A bag that receives life and matures from people’s hands.

Derived from this value, we started crafting adult-oriented bags. Not only it functions as a product to carry, but our bag is intended to be a product that sits beside you in your long life.
As time goes by, it becomes something like a best friend, partner or family. A product that cannot be replaced to any other thing.

We cherish that value, and therefore we craft our bags carefully with great leather materials and our people who respect Japanese craftsmanship.

We value the craftsmanship faith that has been nurtured in Japan. We pass on the knowledge, skills and faith of Japanese craftsmanship that we acquired in our experience in the past 50 years generations to generations.
Now in our studios, the products are manufactured by young and passionate craftsman who love making handmade goods and veterans who have astonishing skills and experience.
