- Katakuri no Yado is a small inn with only seven rooms that was renovated from a 108-year-old elementary school in Akiyamago, a remote area that straddles Niigata and Nagano prefectures and is one of the world's most snow-heavy regions.
- In the former gymnasium, a sugoroku game, an artwork from the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, is set up.
- The giant sugoroku game takes up the entire gymnasium and is enjoyable for both adults and children.
