It is a 7-minute walk from the Exit 6 of Motomachi-Chinatown Station on the Minato Mirai Line. British House Yokohama was constructed in 1937 as the official residence of British Consulate-General. This building standing inside the large Harbor View Park, was designed by the Shanghai branch of the British Office of Works. The building has an open-space ambience with sun porches and terraces leading to a lawn garden, from the 2nd floor, you can enjoy a garden view or have the panoramic views of the port of Yokohama. Its nameplate and copper plate placed beside the front door, show the power of the Royal Family of those days. At the outside of the building, you can enjoy some elegant time while appreciating delicately-planted roses. Also the hall on the 1st floor holds seasonal events and concerts. Admission free.
