Mitsuike Park

三ツ池公園

Description

The Mitsuike Park is a spacious garden, 300,000 square meters in area, with three ponds and bountiful nature. In this garden, 1,600 cherry trees with 78 cultivars are planted, and the park is famous enough to be selected one of Japan's top 100 cherry blossom spots. During the season of cherry blossoms from late February to April, a large number of people come to the park every year to enjoy hamami cherry blossom viewing. Other than cherry blossoms, the park offers its appeal at any time of the year; golden-rayed lilies blooming by the ponds, with dragonflies and butterflies flying over them in summer, richly colored maple and gingko leaves in autumn, and migrating birds such as ducks resting on the ponds in winter. Strolling around the park enjoying such views is recommended. The park also has some rest areas and shops. It is a 21-minute bus ride from the Shin-yokohama Station bound for the Tsurumi Nishi-guchi West Exit. It is a three-minute walk from the Mitsuike-koen Kitamon bus stop.
