Description
Tate (sword fight) is the Japanese style of action used on stage and in movies. Based on the Japanese samurai culture, an instructor will teach you how to use a katana sword and move around with one. Why don't you experience what it's like to be a samurai or ninja?
1. Get changed into a kimono, and start by sitting in the seiza position and saying expressions of gratitude.
2. Using a wooden sword, you will practice the basics of tate, such as how to hold and slash the sword, and then pair up and practice movements in battle.
3. Perform a one-minute scene with a sword and a samurai opponent.
Samurai have existed in Japan since the Heian era. Samurai were proficient at martial arts, served under a Japanese feudal lord, held the ideology of ”bushido”, and did not spare their own life. Samurai have since disappeared from Japan, but we have taken on their spirit and are spreading their culture throughout the world.
We are located on B1F of Miraiza Osakajo, the complex in front of Osaka Castle. As well as being located near Tanimachi Yonchome station, we are also accessible 15 minutes on foot from JR Morinomiya station, Osakajokoen station and Keihan Tenmabashi station.
