Who doesn’t love camembert, with its thick, firm rind and soft insides? The famous okonomiyaki restaurant chain Dotonbori fused this delicious cheese with the flavorful Japanese omelet specialty, available at all restaurants since December 2016.

The “Camembert Cheese Ball Okonomiyaki” can be enjoyed for 980 yen (tax excluded) and makes use of whole camembert cheese for the best flavor. The most delicious way to enjoy the okonomiyaki is, of course, piping hot and fresh, when the cheese on the inside has just melted and is incredibly fluffy.

Another recommendation is the “Camembert and Quattro Formaggi Okonomiyaki” for 1,180 yen (tax excluded) which doesn’t only feature whole camembert but also four other kinds of cheese: mix cheese, smoked hot pepper cheese, parmesan, and mascarpone. If you’re a cheese lover, this okonomiyaki will send you to seventh heaven!

Make sure to also try the “Camembert Risotto Monja” for 980 yen (tax excluded). Monja is a Tokyo specialty similar to okonomiyaki but a lot more liquid. This risotto-style monja doesn’t only include camembert but also mixed cheese, smoked hot pepper cheese, and mascarpone, making for a very rich and flavorful cheese delicacy.

As the camembert okonomiyaki and monja specialties are only available for a limited time, so get to the next Dotonbori restaurant and enjoy these unique dishes!
